Can anyone believe that Labor Day is this weekend? I mean, its not technically the end of summer...but really, it feels like it is. This summer was too fast for me, I'm sure everyone else will agree.
With this coming weekend being the last 'hoorah' for lots of folks- end of summer get-togethers are sure to happen. I have two dresses that will work for a casual cookout and something a little more formal.
The paisley dress with the cutouts is from White House Black Market. I got it a couple of years ago, but I've found super similar one's that I'm linking below. What I love about this dress, is that it gives your outfit a more formal look, but nothing too crazy. The cutouts on the front and back of the dress give it an edgy feel without being too risky. I paired this dress with black cutout heels, and I've linked them down below. I would wear this dress to a nice dinner out with friends, maybe a night near the waterfront or even to a wedding- it's that versatile.
The black flounce(overlay detail) dress is from TJMaxx, and is also from a few seasons ago. I have linked a ton of dresses just like this one down below. I would wear this dress to something more casual- maybe a cookout at a friends house, a girls get-together or maybe an informal party, say, for someones birthday. Being that the dress is all black, the flounce detail on top really makes this dress different and compliments women who aren't well endowed on top. The back of this dress also has some funky cutout details, adding to the overall chicness of the ensemble. With this dress I paired it with basic black espadrilles.
Also, what I love about both of these dresses, is that at night you could pair both with cute jackets to keep warm.
